On the pre-facelift 1.9 they are built into the headlights. On the pre-facelift 2.9 they are on the bumper as they are on your car. The facelift changes are mainly around the rear of the car (which is why we sometime cheekily refer to it as the ass-lift) - different boot lid, rear side panels, tail lights, third brake light etc.
Wider and lower makes the post-facelift look sportier and more aggressive. The bottom air intake slot at the base of the front bumper in the pre-facelift has a smiling shape at the outer edges, but a turned down frown shape in the 2002-03 post-facelift. The post-facelift is more aggressive.
