I tested a 2400g with 16gb of 2400 and then swapped in 16gb of 3600 and it was a solid 10 to 15 FPS improvement in games like cod war zone. If 2666Mhz is cheaper, go for it, the difference between 3200Mhz and 2666 Mhz is not very high, so you really doesn't have any boost in emulation performance.
DDR4 has faster data transfer rates – maximum transfer rate of 3200 Mbps vs. 2666Mhz for DDR3. DDR4 has much larger capacity – maximum capacity of 64 GB per module compared to 16 GB for DDR3. You get better power savings with DDR4 because of lower voltage (1.2V compared to 1.5V for DDR3). This makes it a better RAM for on-the-go devices
Test System Setup. In this test, we’ll be using the popular battle royale title PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS to gauge the performance difference between the Transcend JetRam DDR4-2666 (stock and overclocked) and gaming memory running at 3200MHz with XMP. As its name suggests, the Transcend JetRam DDR4-2666 runs at 2666MHz CL19.
Actually RAM speed matters. Watch this video, one can clearly see the higher speed ram (2666mhz) is giving about 5fps more than 2133mhz ram. If it fits your budget, then go for the RAM with the highest speed possible according to your budget.
not enough to matter. but bigger is almost always better. Yes, but just to clarify, sometimes low end 1866 MHz memory runs at slower timings to reach the 1866MHz speed. This would effectively be slower for daily use than 1600MHz RAM that had tighter (more respsonsive) timings. Again, probably not enough to notice, but something to think about.
Samsung 8GB DDR4 PC4-21300, 2666MHZ, 288 PIN DIMM, 1.2V, CL 19 Desktop ram Memory Module. This memory module from the house of Samsung comes with the standard 8GB RAM, which is quite sufficient
For rendering workloads - these don't scale that much with memory to be honest, I think you should be pretty good for that use case even on 2666MHz kit, but I didn't see any tests on 3DS max for example, so I'm not sure about all your programs. 21 Inevitable_Text_5596 OP • 2 yr. ago
We recommend 16GB of main system memory for most users who want to multitask without incurring the above-mentioned slowdown, and 32GB for heavy multi-taskers or those running memory-hogging
3200MHz RAM can downclock to 2933MHz or 2666MHz if system specification only supports 2933MHz or 2666MHz Improve your system's responsiveness, run apps faster and multitask with ease Compatibility assurance when using the Crucial System Scanner or Crucial Advisor Tool

is 16gb 2666mhz ram good
